Youth Group

I Timothy 4:12 - Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.

The above passage is a wonderful bit of encouragement that Paul sent to the young preacher Timothy.  The Rockledge youth group exists to help provide this nourishing atmosphere for our teenaged young people.  We work diligently to strengthen and equip our teenagers with the tools they need to deal with the pressures and temptations that they deal with on a daily basis.  Teenagers today face an unprecedented amount of pressure to engage in the self-indulgent acts of the world.  Hollywood and the music industry have launched an all out war on the hearts and souls of America's teenagers in an attempt to promote promiscuous lifestyles and rebellion against authority.

Here at Rockledge we are working to provide our young people with an atmosphere of Christian encouragement and love.  Through involving our young people in the work of the church and providing fun and spiritual activities for them to engage in together, we are providing them with ways to escape from the temptations of the world.  Our youth group is overseen by one of our deacons and the activities are scheduled and carried out by our teens' parents and other volunteers.  This model provides our young people with a tremendous support group.  We are convinced that if a young Christian receives support and encouragement from their church family then they will have less of a desire to seek their support from outside influences.

If you have any questions concerning our youth program please feel free to contact us at rockcofc@cfl.rr.com or call us at 321-632-7249.

Children's Ministry

David wrote in Psalms 127:4, Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth.  Likewise, blessed is the church whose spiritual quiver is full of young children.  Here at Rockledge, we recognize the awesome power that lies within each child.  The power to some day work diligently to destroy the works of Satan.  The question is, what are we as parents and the Lord's church doing to ensure that our "arrows" are aimed well?

Our children's program helps to instill in them a heart that loves God above all else.  In our Bible classes, we strive to teach our young children the wonderful stories of the Bible.  Stories of outstanding faith and trust in God.  Stories that teach our children that God loves them, wants to have a relationship with them, and is the Supreme Being who has created the wonderful world in which we live.  Our program also provides times of service projects, fun outings, and other such times of fellowship where our children can be around Christian friends and begin stimulating one another to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24) from an early age.  By doing so, they will be well equipped to enter the world of the teenager with boldness and courage in the Lord.

We are continuing to grow and we would love to have you and your children be involved with us.  Our children's ministry is completely run by the parents of these children, which serves as a ministry in itself as it provides wonderful times of fellowship for us to encourage and support one another.  By this, our young children are provided with a nurturing atmosphere of love and godliness as they grow in the ways of the Lord.  So come grow with us!
